Sit Back Sundays

This week has been devastating.

This week has given everyone, everywhere a life check. Too much has happened, and too many lives have been lost this week.

This week, as most people know, started out normal (for most anyway).

In the UK, on the 11th November - Wednesday - we 'celebrate' remembrance day. If you have seen any pictures, this is the day most wear a poppy to help show their respect for all the people we lost during the world wars. It's a mournful day, which is thought provoking.

Ever since, I went to Belgium and Italy to see the Battlefields, Remembrance Day has really hit me hard. Unless, you have been to see the cemeteries or heard people talk about their experiences, it doesn't click how big a thing it was. I remember those two trips, and have such fond memories of them. Although in my family, we don't know if we have anyone overseas, it's still so powerful. My best friend happened to have several people out there, and it was incredible just watching her. Just thinking that that many people fought and sacrificed themselves for our well being and safety is incredible and we are all forever in their debt.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Friday. Friday happened to be Friday the 13th, which many people believe to be unlucky.

This superstition happened to be true this time.

Unfortunately, as you should all know, we currently have a terrorist group - ISIS - that believes we should all pay.

Paris was attacked. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. There were 6 attacks. Stade de France, Petit Cambodge restaurant and Le Carillon bar, Rue Fontaine au Roi, Belle Equipe Bar, Boulevard Voltaire and the Bataclan Concert Hall. The death toll is 129, which lots injured aswell.

I heard about this at 11pm, and I cried. I cried for all those that were put through that, and for those who died. It's not something we can prevent, and it's something that could happen to anyone at any time.

ISIS are not people. They cannot be human. They cannot think that bombing and shooting innocent people is okay, or justifiable. What type of God tells people to murder hundreds of people.

We cannot let terrorism win. They won't win.

We also cannot be ignorant and call all Muslims 'terrorists'. Although ISIS is made up of Muslims, it doesn't mean that all Muslims believe what those terrible beings do. We discriminate enough, let's not add another wall. We all need to stick together, and aim towards peace. We should all be aiming towards world peace, it may seem impossible, but I, for one, want my future to be somewhat safe. I want for my children to be able to grow up, and there not be a World War. It's not something we can guarantee, but we can aim.

On top of this, 43 people also died from a double suicide attack in Beirut on Thursday. This was very much overlooked, especially since Friday. However, this is also something that we need to pay attention to. 43 people died on Thursday. Yet, until Saturday I didn't know of this. The news channels, only push articles that will gain lots of publicity, for example Paris. We cannot overlook acts of terrorism, no matter if they are near us or not, no matter if only a few died or hundreds. It's something we need to know.

Also on Friday, there was another suicide blast and a road blast that happened in Baghdad, Iraq. 26 dead. Again overlooked. 26 people lost their lives.

All 3 of these incidents were of ISIS's doings. In 24 hours, 198 people died due to ISIS.

WE CANNOT OVERLOOK THIS.

We need to not only pray for Paris, we need to pray for the world.

Japan has also had an earthquake, and Mexico has had an earthquake and hurricane.

Everyone needs our love and support. If you are religious, pray. Pray for peace, pray for help, pray for those who lost their lives. If you are not religious, hope and wish. We overlook not only the world, but also ourselves. We can do lots of things, let's try and bring as much peace as we can.
